Calea Victoriei Foundation invites you to the ROYAL MUSICAL JOURNEY Gala Concert – a delightful and rhythmic voyage through the stylish Europe of 17th and 18th centuries. The event takes place on September 14th – 7 PM, at Sala Radio Concert Hall.
Along with brilliant young conductor Gabriel Bebeselea, charming soprano Rodica Vica and Symphactory Orchestra we will travel from the luxurious court of the Sun King (Louis XIV of France) to romantic Venice and will enjoy the divine tunes of German composers. We will sing along dreamy refrains of England and embark to a musical adventure in the exotic Amorous Indies.
Seven composers – Vivaldi, Rameau, Lully, Boccherini, Handel, Purcell and Broschi – will surprise us with their innovative works, inspired improvisations and the energy of their music. The public will have the chance to hear unusual instruments specific to Baroque times: harpsichord and theorbo.
Due to the animated illustrations created by the talented artist Jozsef Vass, we will experience an authentic baroque atmosphere. Decorated interiors and lively characters in lavish costumes will rebuild the fragrance of a fabulous, lost world.
28 years old conductor Gabriel Bebeselea is considered the most brilliant musician of the young generation and one of most gifted Romanian artists. He finished his academic studies at the famous Music University of Vienna and he studied with renowned conductors such as: Bernard Haitink, Kurt Masur and Mark Stringer. Winner of the “Lovro von Matačic”, “Jeunesses Musicales” and semi-finalist of the “Donatella Flick-London Symphony Orchestra” Conducting Competitions, Gabriel is wildly applauded in concert halls all over the world.
The special guest of the evening is soprano Rodica Vica, whose dramatic coloratura voice is highly appreciated among the borders of her country as well as abroad. A versatile artist, Rodica is at her ease in bravery baroque and belcanto repertoire.
Sala Radio Concert Hall (60-64 Gen. H. M. Berthelot Street) is considered to be the best symphonic music concert hall in Romania and one of Bucharest’s cultural landmarks.
